Design brief
Help one person catalogue their home room by room with the camera so they can find anything fast.
01 · Brief
Things get put away, then lost.
I wrote the brief for one person filing their home room by room with the camera.
02 · Directions
Three layouts, then three styles.
I had agents build a shelf, a label maker and a floor plan, then restyle the plan three ways.
03 · Prototype
A floor plan you can search.
Clickable on a phone, with search pinning things on the plan, and checked by agents against the boards.
Three homes. One floor plan.
Checked against
6
test questions from the sprint, which I answered myself. No one else has tried it yet.
From an empty home to the first item.
What worked
- 01The floor plan carried the whole idea.
- 02Search pins things right on the plan.
- 03Every save and move comes with an undo.
What I’d change
- 01Let people set up their own floor plan first.
- 02Give people a reason to keep adding things.
- 03Ask who loses things most before building more.
